Toronto’s magical Window Wonderland, a free immersive urban art walk, is returning to the Junction for its third consecutive year.
From November 25, 2022 to January 1, 2023, Window Wonderland will transform the Junction into an interactive, outdoor gallery featuring unique augmented reality (AR) installations by local and international artists.
This call is for animation artists. Animators will be paired with a muralist and a small business to transform a Junction window into a multi-media visual installation. Augmented Reality will allow the animation to be overlaid on top of the window painting, creating an interactive piece.
THIS IS NOT A CALL FOR MURAL ARTISTS.
Toronto-based mural artists must apply through The Junction BIA Call for Artists (click here). Artists looking to apply for both positions must complete both applications separately.
A shortlist of Animators will be chosen by an Animation Consultant with a final selection by The Junction BIA, based on experience and aesthetics. All selected participating artists will receive a complimentary virtual workshop by Artivive. The workshop will teach participants about augmented reality and provide tutorials to help users create AR art using their tools.
All-inclusive animator fees will be CAD$750 + HST. These fees cover the cost for creating a minimum 20-second long animation with a sound that is able to loop.
