About Artivive

The Augmented Reality Platform For Creatives

Artivive was founded by Sergiu Ardelean and Codin Popescu in January 2017 in Vienna, Austria. We’ve built a highly motivated and creative team of professionals and senior developers to help us become the augmented reality solution for artists and creatives.

"Our vision is to change how art is created and consumed and to build the community around augmented reality art"

Artivive is an AR tool that allows artists to create new dimensions of art by linking classical with digital art. The digital layer opens doors to a whole new world of possibilities. Artists can take visitors on a journey through time, explain what lies underneath, enhance the art with animations, or show how the artworks were made. Over 600.000 creatives worldwide are creating artworks with Artivive across 190 countries. For museums, exhibitions, galleries, and other art institutions Artivive offers a new and innovative way for the audience to interact with exhibitions. Visitors only have to use their smartphones or tablets in order to experience the layer of augmented reality. Please check our case studies to see our collaborations from around the world on YouTube.

We work with museums, galleries, festivals, and designers to present tailored solutions to individual problems. For them, Artivive provides a reliable, fast, and scalable infrastructure for the best experience for their visitors, prolonging visitation time, thus increasing emotional bonding. In addition, Artivive creates digital content, organizes workshops, and proposes artists for collaborations. For the Albertina Museum in Vienna, we created the digital content for the exhibition “Film Stills” and integrated AR experiences to the permanent collection “Monet to Picasso – The Batliner Collection”.Together with Belvedere Museum in Vienna, we implemented AR experiences to their exhibitions (watch the videos here and here).

In 2018, Artivive also partnered up with viennacontemporary and mumok, Museum of Modern Art, for the special program LIVING IMAGE during viennacontemporary international art fair 2018 (watch the video here). In 2019, Artivive was used by the Bayerische Staatsoper to bring augmented reality experiences to their season program (check it out here) and the festival promotions for the Take Festival for Independent Fashion and Arts. In 2019 Artivive was used in the exhibition “100 Best Posters 18 – Germany Austria Switzerland” at the MAK – Austrian Museum of Applied Arts / Contemporary Art in Vienna. At an international level, we work with venues such as the Shanghai Himalayas Museum, the Ying Art Center in Shanghai, MIT – Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Ilmin Museum of Art in Seoul, and the Leica Gallery in Singapore.
