THIS IS NOT A CALL FOR MURALISTS. Toronto-based muralists must apply through The Junction BIA Call for Artists. Artists who work in both paint medium and animation are welcome to apply to be considered for both positions, but you will need to apply through each form separately.
We recommend that all applicants read the Call for Artists page thoroughly before applying. It includes an estimated project timeline/scope of work.
A shortlist of Animators will be chosen by an Animation Consultant with a final selection by The Junction BIA, based on experience and aesthetics.
Animators: All-inclusive animator fees will be CAD$750 + HST. It includes the cost of creating a minimum 20-second-long animation with sound loops. Fees are paid after the animation is complete. Animators must submit an invoice for their fees. Please see below for the estimated timeline to understand the scope of work required.
All selected artists will receive a complimentary virtual workshop by Artivive on Tuesday, August 1 (tentatively). The workshop will teach participants about augmented reality and provide tutorials to help users create AR art using their tools.
Please note that attendance at the workshop is mandatory for all participating artists unless the artist has participated in prior years.
The Junction BIA is committed to creating a diverse environment. The program seeks to engage individuals from diverse backgrounds, including women, visible minorities, new Canadians, LGBTQ peoples, Indigenous peoples, people with disabilities and people from different faith and religious orientations. For more information, please see The Junction BIA Diversity and Inclusion Statement.
Submissions close at 11:59 PM on Friday, June 23, 2023. Selected artists will be contacted by July 5 to sign contracts, book a meeting with the business owner, and confirm the date of the virtual workshop.
